A key component of this Project was research into better practice examples to define leading responses in climate change adaptation and building resilience. These examples are detailed in Appendix 1 and are drawn from a variety of international, national and local better practice climate change adaptation case studies. These are grouped by the following key better practice criteria:
- Complying
- Engaging
- Assessing
- Responding
- Monitoring.
This better practice research has been used as a basis for the health check of each Council’s current adaptive capacity across each better practice theme.
This research has also been used to inform the project more broadly and ensure that learnings from projects and organisations around the world are considered, and incorporated where relevant, into the Project.
